- Why do I need to refresh? Because heating essential and fragrance oils in wickless candles releases the fragrance but leaves the wax behind (unlike in burning candles, where the wax vaporizes in the air). Over time the fragrance is all used up, but our matching booster coins for each candle lets you keep adding more fragrance. You may want to throw away some of the old wax a little as you add more coins.
