Plant-based fragrances vs Synthetic Fragrances
Most candles use synthetic fragrance oils—cheaper, petroleum-based chemicals manufactured in labs to smell like their real alternatives, like lavender, vanilla, or eucalyptus without using actual plants. We chose ISO 9235 certified natural fragrance oils instead— genuine botanicals extracted from real plants through verified physical processes. These often costing 10-100x more but deliver authentic scent complexity and the peace of mind that comes from breathing real plant essences, not petroleum derivatives.

Follow these “Essential Rules” to get the most from your Sukh candle
  1. Trim wick to ¼ inch before EVERY burn
    • This creates a controlled ¾-1″ flame for optimal burning.
    • Without it, you risk large flame, excess soot, black smoke, rapid wax consumption, reduced burn time by 30-50%
  2. First burn: 2-3 hours minimum
    • Sets “wax memory” for entire candle life
    • Without it, you risk tunneling (burns down middle only), and wasting 30-50% of wax, as well as a weak scent throw
  3. Burn 1-4 hours per session
    • Allows full melt pool without overheating
    • Less than 1 hour burning can lead to tunneling; while, more than 4 hours can cause overheating and a safety risk
  4. Never leave unattended
    • Fire safety
    • Risk of house fires, property damage, injuries
  5. Stop at ½ inch wax remaining
    • Prevents container overheating
    • Less than 1/2 inch can lead to cracked glass, scorched surfaces, and a safety hazard

If you have pets, take care to burn candles in an open area or large room with ventilation. If burning in a small room, please keep pets away.

While our products are all natural, many pets can be sensitive or overwhelmed by fragrances and burning wax.

Plant-based fragrances do contain small amounts of essential oils and, some essential oils can be harmful to pets (when ingested, topically applied, or inhaled in large quantities) so it’s always good to be careful).

Always monitor your dog around any burning candles.
